The Poreč Dolphin Swim Marathon is one of the most exciting sports events on the Poreč coastline, welcoming swimmers of all ages and abilities.

Participants join primarily to test their endurance and skills—there is no single winner, time is not the priority. The goal is simply to complete your chosen route, and weaker swimmers may use aids to reach their target. Routes are tailored to both beginners and seasoned swimmers.

A safe swimming adventure

The event is backed by top‑class organisation including professional lifeguards, medical support and precise timing. Every swimmer can feel safe and carefree throughout the race.

The entire course is marked, with checkpoint boats anchored at 1,500 m and 3,000 m; the 500 m and 5,000 m routes finish back at the start. Poreč Dolphin not only provides excellent logistics but also fosters sportsmanship, community and a love of swimming.

Location & Time
The 24th Poreč Dolphin will take place on 30 August 2025. In case of bad weather the start may be postponed up to three hours, or to the following day.
City of POREČ – start at Valamar Parentino (Valamar Parentino Beach).
Course
The course is fully marked with checkpoint boats at 1,500 m and 3,000 m; 500 m and 5,000 m finish back at the start.
Distances:
  • Blue Dolphin – 500 m (new!)
  • Bronze Dolphin – 1,500 m
  • Silver Dolphin – 3,000 m
  • Gold Dolphin – 5,000 m
Any stroke is allowed, as are swimming aids such as fins, masks, kickboards or inflatables.
Instructions for Swimmers
Rolling start from 08:30 to 14:00 at Valamar Parentino Beach. The course closes for everyone at 16:30! Cut‑off times:
  • 14:30 – 500 m
  • 14:45 – 1,500 m
  • 15:30 – 3,000 m
  • 16:30 – 5,000 m
Rest on boats is allowed; a rest boat is stationed every 250 m. Water and glucose available at checkpoint boats. Lifeguards patrol the entire course. No age limit.

Children under 14 must be accompanied; under‑18s need parental consent; swimmers 70+ are advised not to swim alone. All swim at their own risk. If you have trouble, stop and seek help.

Timing by PRO TIME using chips handed out with your bib; results appear online immediately. The organiser may halt the swim if weather deteriorates.
Entry Fee
Early bird until 30 June: €25 adults / €20 under‑16.
Standard from 1 July: €30 adults / €25 under‑16.
